Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and/or validate software system specifications and requirements documentation to enhance software capabilities.
  • Lead software design, coding, and testing to ensure top-notch functionality.
  • Collaborate with customers and engineers in an adaptive Agile environment to drive navy software projects forward.
  • Location: Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA with potential telecommuting options.
  • Effectively communicate status, risks, issues, and innovative ideas to the PM.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics)
  • Active SECRET US Government Clearance. (US Citizenship required for a SECRET Clearance)
  • Proficiency in programming languages: C/C++, Python, Assembly.
  • Over 20 years of Software Development Experience, with Software Design experience in DOD Weapons Systems and a current Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD Pipeline and Static Analysis tools like Jenkins, Coverity, Cppcheck.

Preferred experience:

  • Familiarity with RHEL, RTOS-E, Solaris or System-V based Unix, RHEL, FEDORA, or CentOS.
  • Proficiency in at least one Object-oriented programming (OOP) language: C/C++ or Java (minimum 25 years of experience in one language family).
  • Experience in Sensor systems and Sensor Payloads. Knowledge of STANAG-4586 or STANAG-5516. Software Development expertise in an Agile Environment.
