Student Research Assistant - Internal Internship Experience


JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY


Under the direction of the assigned Faculty, the student worker will conduct research and/or project development, keep reliable documentation of actions and effort and produce deliverables in established time frames.


JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Research under faculty guidance.
  • Develop clear and precise project/research notes.
  • Meet deadlines and follow all procedures.
  • Follow all appropriate research and lab protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete detailed work in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant course content.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current students: Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 and successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent semester with a GPA of at least 2.0.
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time.
  • Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

  • This position requires a criminal background check.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

The work schedule for this position will be 10 hours a week and will be worked out with the lab technician, dependent upon the student's class schedule.

A Student worker is limited to a maximum of 20 work hours per week while classes are in session.

During semester breaks and summer term, a Student Worker is limited to a maximum of 40 work hours per week on an as-needed basis.


EXPECTED STARTING SALARY:
$12.25 hourly.
