Sr Mechanical Estimator

About the Position:
Join our team as a Mechanical Estimator Specialist where you will play a key role in preparing and taking ownership of cost estimating for project bids and proposals, while identifying risks and opportunities to maintain a successful strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed estimates based on blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine quantity take-offs for various project components.
- Utilize work hour unit rates to calculate overall direct work hours for each project item.
- Coordinate equipment and staffing requirements for construction projects.
- Facilitate the procurement process by obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Receive administrative supervision and technical guidance from the Director of Project Controls/Estimating.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in competitive bidding within industrial sectors like petro-chemical, power, and gas processing.
- Proficiency in estimating techniques and a solid grasp of construction industry practices.
- Previous experience in the Industrial EPC field is preferred.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to team members.
- Attention to detail and good interpersonal and writing skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Read and interpret engineering documents and blueprints comfortably.
- Occasional outdoor visits to construction sites may be required.
- Mainly office-based, with occasional off-site work assignments.
- Overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
