Job Description

Summary:

The Lead Teller oversees the smooth operation of teller lines and related tasks, supervising branch Teller staff, and managing end-of-day and end-of-month procedures. They assist members with financial transactions, have authority for overrides, and promote credit union products and services including electronic banking services.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision for branch Tellers, compile Teller Transaction Reports, schedule and monitor daily activities, coach and train Tellers, and complete coaching logs and performance reviews.
  • Manage vault and cash dispenser cash, including ordering cash, balancing vault and cash dispenser, and handling consignment items.
  • Perform member financial transactions, sell money orders and traveler's checks, maintain account information, process payments, and oversee teller overrides.
  • Conduct monthly teller audits, monitor compliance with drawer limits, produce reports, and maintain cash limits.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Performance Measurements:

  • Ensure friendly and professional service to members, adherence to Teller Balancing Policy, communication on key operating issues, uphold a professional work environment, compliance with rules and regulations, punctuality, and following employee handbook policies.
  • Maintain a high skill level.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience: 6 months to 2 years in a related field.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal communication, customer service, managerial, mathematical, trustworthy, ability to act with integrity, and remain calm under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive motions, stationary position, moving objects up to 75 pounds, constant communication, observing details at close range.
