Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
This position is part of the STRONG Families Northeast Tennessee program, an innovative, grant-funded initiative to help low-income families in Northeast Tennessee build capacity and reduce dependence on public assistance. The Financial Support Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of requests for financial support to participating families, along with timely and accurate reporting and month-end reconciliation. Financial support includes barrier removal payments, milestone payments, and transitional benefit payments.
Duties include the following:
  • Receive and review financial support requests, check for accuracy and required documentation, and follow up with staff and vendors as needed.
  • Approve financial support requests, forward payment authorizations to appropriate department(s), and document resolution in database.
  • For time-sensitive barrier removal requests, execute purchases, remotely or in-person, using company credit card under specified conditions.
  • Code credit card expenditures, compile required documentation, and submit information to required parties for month-end credit card reconciliation.
  • Collect and maintain data, analyze trends, make projections, and provide reports as needed to inform program operations and outcomes.
  • Develop, edit and implement a standard operating procedure for financial support, in consultation with program leadership.
  • Provide training and ongoing assistance to staff regarding financial support processes and procedures.
  • Work with program leadership and staff to identify and define process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate timely and accurate fulfillment and completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reporting requirements related to financial support.
  • Ensure that data privacy and integrity is maintained at all times.
    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
    Reports to STRONG Families NETN Program Director.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or closely related field required.
  • 1-3 years' experience required, preferably in a healthcare or human services setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to priority tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
