Job Title: Restaurant General Manager at Joyland in Nashville

Joyland, the brainchild of Chef Sean Brock, is a vibrant and creative eatery that specializes in delicious comfort food. Currently, we are on the lookout for a proactive and passionate Restaurant General Manager to oversee the culinary operations of our establishment in Nashville, working closely with Chef Brock.

Leadership Essentials

  • Lead and manage a multifaceted restaurant to deliver a top-tier culinary experience and consistently uphold the concept vision and PRG standards.
  • Prioritize the well-being of employees, foster a positive work environment, and nurture the next cohort of restaurant leaders.
  • Ensure efficient and profitable restaurant operations under the guidance of the Brand Leader.

Service and Beverage Leadership

  • Exhibit professionalism and warm hospitality in all interactions, especially during challenging scenarios.
  • Strive to enhance the team's knowledge about regional history, culture, and cuisine.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, innovative practices, and eco-friendly products, sharing these insights for ongoing learning.
  • Mentor and train the team to consistently meet service standards and ensure seamless execution of service protocols.

Performance and Talent Development

  • Educate and guide your teams to exceed expectations, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Develop a team of competent leaders to propel organizational growth.
  • Provide constructive feedback and execute training programs for different levels of employees.

Ambassador of the Brand and Company Culture

  • Articulate and embody the founder's vision to the team, guests, vendors, and community.
  • Lead by example, take ownership, and demonstrate initiative in daily tasks.
  • Foster a positive work environment by encouraging new ideas and feedback.

Manage Daily Operations

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Adhere to PRG policies, communicate the vision to the team, and work with the Chef to enforce procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health standards and laws.
  • Collaborate with the Home Office to uphold operational standards.

Manage Financial Results

  • Develop and execute plans to enhance financial performance, manage inventory, and control costs.
  • Handle cash controls, financial reporting, and labor management effectively.
  • Utilize financial information for decision-making and ensure accuracy of accounting systems.

Skills & Knowledge

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and revenue management.
  • Proficiency in operational goal setting and technology utilization.
