Job Description

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry, preferably from an ACS accredited program
  • Thorough understanding of chemistry at the undergraduate level
  • Experience with general laboratory techniques such as distillation, filtration, closed transfer, crystallization, rotary evaporators, vacuum pumps/ovens and small/large scale glassware
  • Assisting more senior chemists with their work
  • Perform analysis of compounds and reaction mixtures using common methods
  • Involvement in process improvement and development of production and test methods
  • Versatility in common IT applications (Microsoft office)
  • Excellent organizational skills and accuracy in experimental documentation
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities:
  • Synthetic organic chemistry knowledge. Polymerization experience is a plus
  • Ability to evaluate safety risks and reactivity concerns in multigram scale multistep organic synthesis. Seeking a team player with a solutions-oriented mindset. Position Functions:
  • Conduct synthesis of organic compounds and polymers at laboratory scale
  • Utilize analytical tests for effective process development, characterize products, and ensure product quality
  • Document experiments and assist in preparing technology transfer packages
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality regulations
  • Perform lab and business unit maintenance
  • Manage material and inventory databases
