The Position

A small but well-established custom home builder, based in Boulder Colorado, with an incredible belief that culture is so important to its success and growth is looking for a Director of Production to add to the already stellar leadership team.

The successful candidate will be currently in a senior production position for a construction company (commercial or private) looking to make a significant impact to this growing and successful company.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating officer this person will be responsible for:
Managing the production department and field staff, with the objective of increasing efficiency and maximizing performance.


Supervising the production department, including assisting superintendents and field staff, hiring and termination of production personnel, setting goals, maintaining schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and conducting performance reviews.

Maintaining the master production schedule, manages superintendents, and ensures accurate construction as planned.

Maintaining customer relations, including monitoring and improving client satisfaction throughout production and attending construction checkpoint meetings.


Ensuring projects are completed profitably and accurately, hosting job cost reviews, approving change orders, and maintaining production standards for quality, safety, and subcontractor/vendor accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises the Production Department
○ Assist Superintendents and field staff with questions and solve problems on site in a
supportive role
○ Responsible for hiring and termination of production personnel
○ Provide clear written big picture goals for the department and drive for success
○ Produce and maintain the construction projection schedule
○ Ensure field personnel are compliant with safety standards
○ Perform annual reviews, at minimum, of Superintendents and field staff
○ Hold weekly production meetings and complete the upcoming week's schedules of all
production personnel, two-week look- ahead and new job assignments
○ Visit job sites as needed and at least weekly
○ Monitor and optimize the use of department resources such as vehicles, tools, equipment,
and personnel
○ Maintains KPI's and performance notes for employees in the department.

Maintains Master Production Schedule
○ Maintain the master production schedule based on accurate information provided by
superintendents.
○ Manage the department to accurately perform construction as planned in the master
production schedule.
○ Manage superintendents and maintain accurate three-week job schedules.
○ Involved in preconstruction meetings and job walks for developing projects.

Customer Relations
○ Ensure superintendent and client communications are meeting or exceeding company
standards
○ Attend construction checkpoint meetings
○ Monitor and strive to improve client satisfaction throughout production

Project Scope and Budget
○ Ensures projects are completed profitably and accurately

Production Standards
○ Company commitment is consistent, positive, and driven by our core values
○ Produces projects per the company's level of quality and established standards
○ Conduct quality control inspections on Company job sites at defined project milestones
○ Conduct an internal punch list meeting with the Superintendent. Invite homeowner to
participate in an external punch list meeting (striving for zero item punch lists)
○ Assists superintendents with keeping subcontractors and vendors accountable to expected
standards
○ Prioritizes a culture of safety
○ Hold monthly safety training
○ Hold monthly training events (Lunch and Learns)
○ Assists in field staff onboarding and continued training.

A salary of between $110,000 and $150,000 depending upon experience, plus performance-based bonuses.
