Exciting Opportunity as a Membership Director at YMCA of Greater Rochester

Join our team at YMCA of Greater Rochester as the Membership Director and play a key role in overseeing membership operations for the Maplewood Branch and Innovation Square. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, you will lead various aspects of the organization to ensure revenue growth, exceptional customer service, and facility management.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all membership services and operations at designated locations
  • Lead hiring, training, and supervision of membership staff
  • Serve as a customer service leader and enhance member engagement
  • Ensure a safe and quality environment for all members and guests
  • Manage membership initiatives, financial development, and facility appearance
  • Develop and manage department budget to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Implement programs and services focused on safety, quality, and customer service
  • Collaborate with community agencies, donors, board members, and volunteers
  • Maintain required certifications and attend necessary meetings and training

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in customer service and/or sales
  • At least 3 years' experience in managing membership programs
  • 2 years in a supervisory role with recruiting and training skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and networking skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to high standards of customer service and quality
  • Demonstrated success in revenue management and expense control
  • Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Bend and stoop frequently
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
  • Travel between locations when required
