Job Title:
Physician Assistant Position at VHA

Summary:

This Physician Assistant position at VHA is part of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering student loan payment reimbursement up to $200,000 over a period of one to five years. You need to meet specific eligibility requirements and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.


Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited as per VA Policy
  • Education: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited training program, with additional requirements for a Master's or Bachelor's degree
  • Certification: Must have passed the PANCE exam
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license
  • Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Preferred Experience: Residency completion or over 3 years in Primary Care, with specific experience areas

Grade Determinations:
  • Physician Assistant-I (PA-I): Entry level with basic requirements
  • Physician Assistant-II (PA-II): Intermediate level, with additional responsibilities beyond entry level
  • Physician Assistant-III (PA-III): Full performance level, leading patient care independently with advanced clinical knowledge

Work Environment:

The Physician Assistant practices as a Primary Care Provider in the Primary Care Clinics as a member of a patient aligned care team (PACT). The team includes Nurse Care Manager, Clinical Associate, and Medical Support Assistant. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, contributing to quality standards, and process improvement within the Primary Care Division.
