Summary:
SUMMARY

Ensure the shipping and receiving of goods and services and to maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. This person must be able to lift a moderate weigh and must have good communication skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Review departmental orders on a daily basis using the procurement system.
  • Manage deliveries from shippers, receipt of goods and storage of items to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Check in products by comparing to packing slips/invoices to process payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Make regular rounds around the property to delivery packages to various departments and pick up outgoing mail and shipping.
  • Package and label all outgoing packages to ship via FedEx.
  • Maintain computerized records of items or services purchased, costs, and delivery.
  • Enforce strict internal controls and continuously monitor and track inventories.
  • Assist with inventory counts as needed.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Regularly use a pallet jack to move/relocate pallets inside the warehouse.
  • Support and assist Retail Warehouse Clerk as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including PM's, weekends and holidays
  • Work with Purchasing Manager to complete additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully the person must have strong computer skills. Must have exceptional people skills and ability to effectively connect with diverse groups and individuals. This person must also be extremely detail oriented and efficient. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Must possess a high degree of accuracy in receiving and processing orders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Education. Would prefer, but not required, prior purchasing experience. Prior warehousing experience is also recommended.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle packages. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance; and bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

This person will primarily be working in a warehouse environment. Environment has doors/garage doors that are regularly opened to receive deliveries. There will be dust present in the warehouse and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This person will be making rounds outdoors to other departments a couple times a day
