Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to become part of our team supporting a client from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Senior Java Developer will be an essential member of an integrated agile project team, contributing to application architecture and design. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining direct responsibility and ownership in developing and deploying components or complete application functionality using Rational Tools in J2EE environments
  • Collaborating with team members to design software components based on business requirements
  • Providing support to the technical team by creating the necessary documentation as per the IRS development methodology for J2EE components
  • Coordinating, planning, communicating, developing, and reviewing client presentations and documentation required under the IRS Enterprise Lifecycle

This position is remote, and we prefer candidates based in Farmers Branch, TX. Local candidates may need to attend occasional meetings at the IRS facility post COVID. Please note that this position is contingent on funding.

Education and Experience Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Offering input into Java application architecture and design
  • Developing and deploying components or complete application functionality
  • Evaluating new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementations
  • Leading and mentoring entry and mid-level developers
  • Supporting testing and remedying defects
  • Documenting and diagramming application functionality using Use Case Modeling tools
  • Collaborating with team members to design software components based on business requirements
  • Providing support to the technical team by creating the necessary documentation
