As a Machinist, you will perform duties required to set up and operate various machines, including manual and CNC (Mazak and Doosan) equipment to finish parts or prepare for the next operation. Essentially, your goal as a Machinist is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as hones, mills, and lathes.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
  • Use intricate types of tooling; verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Use Exotic metals such as Hastelloy and Inconel.
  • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining of assembly problems.
  • Perform all work in accordance with approved manuals and follow all policies and safety guidelines.
  • Craft tooling, jigs and fixtures as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma/GED, required.
  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Familiarity with close tolerances , required.
  • Experience with Fanuc (Doosan Mill) and/or Mazak and Mazatrol Programming experience, required.
