About the role

Zillow is looking for a highly skilled Senior Engineering Manager who can lead the essential aspects of the LLM Platform at Zillow Group. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping Zillow's strategy for harnessing generative AI, developing innovative solutions to drive impactful product and business outcomes. The team under this role will focus on building platform capabilities to facilitate the implementation of LLM powered experiences, addressing unique challenges posed by Generative AI models. Responsibilities also include overseeing key use cases such as analyzing insights from customer calls and building dialogue systems for conversational experiences.

You Will Get To
  • Lead a dedicated team of engineers in establishing a comprehensive platform for the Generative AI lifecycle, spanning from prompt engineering to fine-tuning and metrics evaluation.
  • Work closely with the product team to define the vision, strategy, and execution for the LLM Platform and Call AI Services.
  • Collaborate with other platform teams to create a unified ecosystem for end-users.
  • Engage with AI teams to identify platform requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with Principal engineers to design and implement solutions aligned with the technical vision.
  • Build connections with AI and business teams to align the team's vision effectively.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in Generative AI platforms to drive innovation across Zillow Group.
This position is categorized as a Remote role. Employees working remotely have the flexibility to choose their work location, with certain limitations for U.S. employees.

In states like California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC, the standard base pay range for this role is competitive. Additional equity awards may be provided based on experience and performance.

Who you are

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in managing SDEs and Machine Learning Engineers, with a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Prior experience in software engineering, specifically in Machine Learning products, along with expertise in AI Platform, NLP, or LLM technologies is desired. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a knack for fostering team growth are essential qualities for this role. Additionally, familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
