Medical Biller

- Respond to inquiries from Government payers via phone or correspondence regarding claims issues.
- Assist with Medicare claims inquiries with Financial Institutions.
- Handle bill review requests from the Collections Team promptly.
- Ensure daily completion of worklist and follow-up on all accounts.
- Review unbilled accounts and accounts receivable to guarantee timely billing and collection.
- Report denials to the billing supervisor and work on aged accounts to accelerate cash flow and reduce bad debt.
- Achieve monthly corporate goals for billing and collections.
- Collaborate with team members, hospital/clinic staff, and investigate Coordination of Benefits (COB) issues for resolution.
- Obtain necessary medical records for commercial claims and verify accurate information on claims.
- Provide support and assistance to facilities promptly and maintain confidentiality and respect for all interactions.
- Promote the Mission and Vision of Post Acute Medical, demonstrating exemplary customer service and communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of medical billing experience with major Payors (United Healthcare, BCBS, Kaiser, HCSC, Florida Blue).
- Experience with Medicare Exhaust management.
- Familiarity with services such as Wound Care, Hyperbaric, Physical Therapy, Worker Comp Billing, Tricare, VA, and Myability software (a plus).
Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Data entry and 10-key proficiency.
- Previous experience in medical billing with major Payors.
Work Environment:
In-office training with a hybrid schedule after permanent placement. Monday to Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm. Excellent attendance and reliability are essential.
