Inventory Control Specialist

Position Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of goods within the organization. This role involves tracking inventory, conducting regular audits, and working closely with various departments to maintain accurate inventory records and improve inventory management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records in the inventory management system.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure accurate and timely receipt and distribution of materials and products.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce excess inventory and stockouts.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present inventory reports to management, highlighting key metrics and insights.
- Assist in the planning and forecasting of inventory needs based on historical data and demand projections.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory control, inventory management, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or Inventory Control (e.g., APICS, CPIM).
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
