JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Identify issues and suggest appropriate repair methods.
  • Carry out tasks as specified on repair orders with efficiency and precision, following dealership and factory standards.
  • Receive guidance from the Service Department Foreman.
  • Focus primarily on servicing Peterbilt vehicles.
  • Receive assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor.
  • Interact with dealership staff, manufacturer representatives, and clients.
  • Offer guidance to less experienced technicians.
  • Stay informed and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations like EPA, OSHA, and DOT.
  • Operate in a consistently safe manner.
  • Promptly report any safety concerns to management.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Promptly report any incidents that alter the vehicle's appearance or condition to department management.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized shop area.


SKILLS:

Self-driven and attentive to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Deliver exceptional customer service.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Basic computer proficiency.

Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Collaborate effectively with a team and supervisors.


REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Vocational certificate or degree in diesel or truck repair.

Four to six years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CDL license is a plus.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preference for certifications in MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly use hands for handling, reaching, and speaking.

Frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Occasionally sit.

Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision requirements include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Work environment may vary from quiet office settings to moderate to loud noise in other situations with possible sudden loud noises.
