Summary

We are seeking a Soccer Coach/Instructor hours per week) to lead a Teen Soccer Class at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center. Candidates should have knowledge of classroom management, strong organization skills, enjoy working with teens, and have a passion for soccer.
Who May Apply: This position is open to all qualified applicants. Must be 18 years old.
Job Duties

Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing and soccer instruction. Interact with participants in a positive and supportive manner, providing a role model for participants at all times.Be proactive in resolving conflict among youth and ensuring a safe environment.Enthusiastically promote and recruit youth for the program.Keep accurate attendance records of program activities.Set up equipment for program activities and store equipment and clean facility at end of program. Enforce Teen Program rules and King County policies and procedures.Represent King County Parks in a professional manner to youth, parents, school and agency personnel, and the community at large.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

We seek candidates with the following:

  • Demonstrated prior teaching experience.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment required for a soccer program.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
  • Skill in communicating clearly and respectfully.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees.
  • Demonstrated skill in providing and following oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare written reports as assigned.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to working outdoors in all types of weather as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with program set-up and take-down.
  • Maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location: Steve Cox Memorial Park, 1321 SW 102nd, Seattle, WA 98146
  • Work Hours: The work schedule for this position is flexible and can vary, it works approximately per week.
  • FLSA Status: This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
