Summary

Undertake diverse fabrication and welding assignments. Provide production support for specialized projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fit parts and components following work instructions.
  • Construct parts and brackets as needed utilizing diagrams and/or engineering drawings.
  • Adhere to oral and written task guidance.
  • Identify and aid in rectifying issues arising from engineering or design challenges.
  • Continuously self-inspect during shifts; analyze and propose suggestions for ongoing enhancement.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work environment while optimizing space utilization.
  • Engage and collaborate with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Operate and proactively maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Adhere to quality service standards and conform to procedures, regulations, and rules.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Between 2 to 4 years of welding experience.
  • Proficiency in tape measurement and blueprint comprehension essential.
  • Prior experience in fabrication / certification is advantageous.
  • High level of proficiency in Mig / Tig application (Ferrous and alloy metals. Must be experienced in working with stainless steel & aluminum).
  • Familiar and adept in the correct utilization of cutting (Plasma, acetylene torch, shear) equipment.
  • Skillful in reading comprehension, writing, and mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to grasp written and verbal work instructions.
  • Proficiency in handling basic hand tools, shop tools, and equipment. Competent in the use of measuring devices to adhere to required tolerances.
  • Highly skilled and mechanically inclined. Quick to grasp processes, adapt to changes, and implement modifications swiftly.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and associated machinery.
  • Capability to maintain a clean and secure work environment.
  • Beneficial to possess Welding Certification.
  • Preferably possess experience in manufacturing and/or automotive sector.
  • Readiness to travel if necessary.
  • Successful completion of preemployment drug screening is mandatory.
Physical Demands
  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Movement involving walking, hand and arm extensions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and crawling.
  • Regularly handle and relocate items up to 10 lbs.; frequently manage and shift loads up to 30 lbs.; occasionally handle and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity and focus adjustment at varying distances; position necessitates peripheral vision, depth perception, color distinction ability.
  • Provisions can be made to facilitate individuals with disabilities to execute essential job duties.
Working Environment
  • Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to caustic fumes and fluids.
  • Machinery operation mandates the use of protective gear, which includes but is not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.
  • Avoidance of loose apparel and jewelry.
  • Possibility of operating a motor vehicle and engaging in outdoor work.

Education & Training:

Selected candidates for the West Virginia role will receive hands-on training and will be expected to participate in education and training sessions at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this role falls within the range of $18 to $20 per hour. Qualified individuals generally follow a 40-hour work week, involving four, 10-hour shifts.
