JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of outbound orders and preparing necessary paperwork associated with each (i.e. BOLS, delivery manifests, packing lists, commercial invoices). You will communicate with different delivery carriers, work directly with the department supervisor, and communicate with our service delivery and sales teams. This role will require data entry into a tracking system as well as filing of documents and forms. You will occasionally have to be out on the warehouse floor and will work with our warehouse equipment operators. You may be required to operate warehouse equipment and forklifts (only when lift certified) in a safe manner.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Schedules and coordinates outbound appointments with vendors and supply chain.
  • Directs carrier drivers upon reporting to Shipping office.
  • Pull parts for shop and work orders using pick list.
  • Pick, pack and ship small customer orders less than 150 lbs.
  • Keep files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping reports for managers.
  • Handle issues arising in shipping or package handling.
  • Maintain communications with internal staff, including status and tracking numbers.
  • Responsible for resolving any discrepancies between packing list and physical items.
  • Cross trains and assists Crating team when necessary.
  • Assists with the transferring of finished goods to the crating area (only when lift certified).
  • Assists with the loading of crates into the trailer (only when lift certified).
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complies with SOPs, safety rules and regulations, and departmental procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in operations of Warehousing and Shipping and use of equipment such as forklifts, order pickers and pallet runners.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility's production floor or customer's production environment.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
