What's the Role of a Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic at CRST?

Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanics play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the safety of Class 8 trucks and trailers, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of CRST's operations. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of equipment maintenance, effective diagnosis of technical issues, and thorough equipment assessments. Work involves managing a fleet that includes modern Cascadia Freightliners with Detroit Engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on Class 8 tractors and trailers, as well as conduct preventative maintenance on trailers; operate vehicles safely
  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues of vehicles
  • Maintain repair records and update maintenance manuals
  • Conduct equipment checks to ensure operational status and safety

Role Requirements:

  • Pass CRST background check, drug test, and MVR (if applicable)
  • Meet minimum tool requirement
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with Class 8 tractors and trailers
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Class B CDL (preferred)
