Job Posting: Special Education Teacher
Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Bessemer, Alabama. This is a full-time contract position based in a school setting. Candidates must meet all requirements set forth by local and state regulations. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with special education students and their families.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in various academic subjects.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments that promote student success.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including IEP goals, assessment results, and behavior interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss strategies for supporting learning at home.
- Participate in team meetings, including IEP meetings and staff meetings, to discuss student progress and collaborate on intervention strategies.
- Stay informed about best practices in special education and incorporate research-based instructional strategies into daily instruction.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
