Responsibilities

Therapy Coordinator

Summary: The Therapy Coordinator (TC) supervises the rehabilitation department to fulfill resident needs, the company's financial requirements, and state/federal regulations. Responsibilities also include ensuring specific patient care, customer service, and financial goals are met through appropriate staff scheduling as per patient care requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assign patient schedules and tasks to staff as needed
  • Coordinate department functions with other services effectively to promote team synergy
  • Communicate department goals, risks, and achievements to administration in a constructive manner
  • Participate in various meetings and activities related to resident care, education planning, and quality assurance
  • Ensure accurate reporting of MDS information and billing
  • Maintain a valid state license if applicable and stay updated on profession-specific issues and healthcare developments
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures within the facility
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as required
  • Comply with the position description for the current license discipline
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Must have a therapy degree from an accredited school; or
  • If a Rehab Tech, High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and
  • Two (2) years experience in a therapy-related role

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in clinical documentation
  • Basic Internet navigation skills

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Current and active license as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist
