Be a part of a new corporate contract for Royce Geo Contract is expected to be awarded in June 2024. We are looking for a results-driven Cataloger with experience in collecting, populating, storing, and maintain media and metadate within an ILS in Springfield, VA This data will be derived from NGA's collection of geospatial and textual products (maps, charts, CDs, DVDs, textual material, intelligence documents, handheld photography and digital datasets).

Responsibilities:

• Populate Integrated Library Systems (ILS) database using current NGA modified MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA standards.
• Follow all established NGA cataloging guidelines.
• Update Cataloging SOPs for new/altered product lines.
• Conduct metadata reviews and verification of data integrity.
• Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, NGANet).
• Provide weekly metrics tracking number of items cataloged.
• Responsible for working with appropriate leadership and team leads, to provide input on the overall management strategy and approach to data integrity efforts and cataloging practices.
• Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
• Support collection development; e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc.
• Conduct collection maintenance services, e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• A combination of 3-5 years of experience working in cataloging, computer-based data entry, or in the application of MARC 21, AACR2R, or RDA standards.
• Course work in Cartography or Geodesy or 1 year of demonstrated experience working with metadata and coordinate systems (MGRS, Lat/Long, UTMs).
• Understanding of DoD or IC produced maps/products
• TS/SCI Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of library clerical procedures and practices.
• Ability to remain flexible to changing priorities and requirements from supervisors and customers.
• Understanding of partner produced maps/products.
• Experience with customer service.
• Proficient in file management.
• Ability to support movement and organization of physical media by carrying boxes (up to 25lbs) and climbing a ladder.
