How will your role impact First Command?

The Senior Change Manager is responsible for playing a key role in ensuring that organizational projects and initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing adoption and usage. Responsible for designing and executing strategies to facilitate the adoption of change initiatives from assessment to implementation, the change manager builds cross-functional partnerships to ensure the minimization of the adverse effects of organizational change and optimization of positive results. This person is responsible for organizational change management to include organizational design, business model and business processes in partnership with Human Resources and other business partners.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans to support organizational initiatives and projects.
  • Lead change management activities including:
    • Stakeholder analysis
    • Impact assessments
    • Change readiness assessments
    • Communication plans
  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics.
  • Identify and collaborate to manage anticipated and persistent resistance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on change management initiatives including:
    • Supporting and engaging senior leaders
    • Coaching people managers and supervisors
    • Supporting organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Capture data and define and measure success metrics, reporting on progress and issues or roadblocks.
  • Work closely with Business Architects, Business Process Engineers, and Business Analysts to ensure that the approach to change is integrated into the overall project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Plan and implement effective stakeholder engagement actions to drive understanding and to influence positive acceptance across the organization.
  • Identify key stakeholders and manage timely and effective communication with them throughout the change process. Ensure that all parties are informed and prepared for changes.
  • Create alignment of goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives and integrate change management activities into project plans.
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders impacted by the changes proposed. Utilize this information to ensure that interventions and strategies are targeted and effective.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.

What skills/qualifications do you need?

Education

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in business or change management preferred.

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of proven experience in change management, preferably in a business transformation or organizational change context.

**Certifications **

  • Change management certification/designation (e.g., Prosci, ACMP)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process, ADKAR preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
