Job Description

Who You'll Work With

Searching for top-notch Solution test engineers, Arista Networks is offering an exciting opportunity. The Solution test group plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products through rigorous testing of large, complex environments. By focusing on key technologies and emulating our strategic customers' networks, this role involves:
  • Researching technologies, features, and customer environments to create appropriate test scenarios
  • Testing feature interaction thoroughly and identifying potential areas of improvement
  • Conducting exhaustive tests with a focus on real-world use cases, scale, and performance
What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from different teams to understand requirements and expectations
  • Plan and build network topologies required for testing use cases
  • Configure hardware, features, traffic generators, and tools to replicate necessary environments
  • Execute comprehensive test plans, emphasizing potential weaknesses, performance, and scale
  • Troubleshoot failures and performance issues, working closely with the development team for resolution
  • Present results to stakeholders, offering feedback and suggestions for improvements
  • Assist the sales team and customers with inquiries, requests, and demonstrations
  • Engage in peer collaboration to enhance team skills and knowledge of new technologies
  • Support the TAC team with escalation reproduction efforts when required
Qualifications
  • Hold a Master's degree in telecommunications, computer engineering, or computer networking
  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in System test or Solution test roles, dealing with complex environments
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 technologies like IP forwarding, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, and more
  • Have expertise in layer-2/3-switch administration, including standard CLI and SNMP interfaces
  • Familiarity with Linux tools such as ping, traceroute, tcpdump, and scripting languages like Python or TCL
  • Possess excellent communication skills, a drive for quality improvement, and a thirst for learning new technologies
  • Work independently with determination to ensure product success

Additional Information

For this role, the new hire's base pay ranges from $130,000 to $187,000. Arista offers competitive pay tailored to different work locations. The actual pay will be based on factors like skills, experience, and location, with potential bonuses and equity. US-based employees receive benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage, tax savings, and more.
