We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to put together, maintain, and fix machinery and vehicles. You will be accountable for ensuring the operation and dependability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems.

A top-notch mechanic requires manual agility and keen attention to detail. They need to handle various machines and tools proficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.

Must be ready to travel to job locations (in Georgia) and work on-site at the shop in Conyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on various road construction equipment and diagnose issues with effective solutions.
  • Construct and install machines or mechanical parts as per specifications.
  • Examine machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and perform diagnostic tests to identify operational problems.
  • Carry out repairs with a focus on optimal reliability.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them promptly.
  • Conduct thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery components.
  • Refill fluids and components of engines and machinery.
  • Offer advice on proper maintenance and preventive measures to machine or vehicle users.
  • Handle additional tasks as assigned (e.g., repair hydraulic systems, paint vehicles, etc.).
  • Maintain work logs and report issues.

Requirements and skills:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mechanic.
  • Proficiency and understanding of construction equipment (asphalt, heavy machinery, etc.).
  • Thorough knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems along with their components.
  • Capability in utilizing various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers).
  • Ability to follow established procedures and read instructions, blueprints, etc.
  • Firm dedication to all health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid physical strength and stamina.
  • Preferably a high school diploma; Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a significant advantage.
  • Having a CDL license is a benefit.
  • Capability to lift over 40 pounds, climb, walk, and stand for extended periods.
