Job Title: Production Operator at PQ

  • Start up, run, and shut down equipment to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Operate production processing and material handling systems, some through computer control.
  • Monitor system outputs - including charts, gauges, flow indicators, computer displays, and printouts.
  • Control and adjust rates to balance related process systems such as air, gas, and speed.
  • Perform quality control tests on process samples for process control and assurance of product quality.
  • Maintain reliable operations of furnace, dissolving, and related equipment, requiring detailed process knowledge and adherence to SOPs and emergency procedures.
  • Exercise judgment and rapid decision-making in operational problems and unexpected occurrences.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Perform various self-directed Continuous Quality Improvement team support roles.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments, both orally and in writing.
  • Operate the liquid sodium silicate plant according to standard procedures.
  • Utilize statistical process control and perform necessary tests and actions to ensure process efficiency.
  • Coordinate emergency response situations and liaise with relevant personnel.
  • Conduct quality control tests and maintain production data accurately.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping and perform necessary maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity working with computers using commercial operating systems

  • Complete HSE training requirements promptly
