About the Position:
Join our team at Waterbury Public Schools as a **Hall Monitor/Security**. As part of the Security and Safety department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors on school grounds. By monitoring designated areas, enforcing school rules, and providing a positive influence on students, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or a general education development (GED) certificate. Associate degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with school age children preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Class D Operator's License may be required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with school and District rules.
  • Provide assistance to students and staff as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and security threats.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and visitors.

Working Conditions:
Employees in this position must have the physical and mental capabilities to perform assigned duties, including standing, walking, and maintaining visual acuity. Environmental conditions such as temperature changes, exposure to chemicals, and noise levels may vary.
