Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Patient Care
  • Engage with patients during clinic visits and perform various clinical tasks, including vital sign collection and medication verification.
  • Prepare for office hours by organizing charts, scheduling tests, and setting up exam rooms.
  • Assist with examinations, procedures, and lab tests as needed.
  • Support medication renewals and authorizations as per department guidelines.
  • Administer medications under physician or nurse practitioner supervision.
Communication and Documentation
  • Manage patient flow and special procedures, handle phone messages, and liaise with appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate care activities such as calling patients with results and scheduling appointments.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and provide basic information to patients and their families.
  • Complete medical record entries following Washington University protocols.
Equipment and Supplies
  • Maintain inventory levels, clean and restock exam rooms, and sterilize instruments.
Other Functions
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and participate in training and education programs.
  • Meet OSHA and regulatory standards, engage in quality improvement initiatives, and perform assigned duties diligently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, along with experience in EMR systems.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with six months of related experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification.

$24.66 / Hourly
