Job Description

This position showcases knowledge and skills to assist the pharmacist efficiently and cost-effectively. The focus is on safety and efficiency in pharmaceutical care without compromising quality.

Schedule:

  • Requires availability on days, nights, and weekends

Scope:

St Joseph Pharmacy prioritizes patient well-being over profits. The emphasis is on providing optimal care and ensuring patients have their medications post-hospitalization.

Responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician Outpatient include:

  • Execute pharmacy technician duties in different pharmacy departments
  • Participate in process improvement and new procedure implementation
  • Coordinate new associate orientation and training
  • Engage in problem-solving for patient-related issues
  • Collaborate with the department teams for effective patient care
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and departmental policies
  • Assist in various pharmacy services
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies for authorization
  • Prepare, label, and package medications accurately
  • Monitor controlled substance inventories diligently
  • Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and hazardous waste disposal

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) required
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician

Physical Requirements:

  • Carrying, lifting, manual dexterity, among others

Location:

Saint Joseph Hospital, Denver, Colorado

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours per week
