Role Summary
The Lead Machinist position entails working in a machine shop focused on prototype development and production support. The primary responsibilities include programming, operating, and troubleshooting milling and turning equipment, as well as developing setup sheets and work holding methodology.
Requirements:
General:
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent. Technical degree, vocational training, or extensive industry experience required.
- Ability to work independently using technical documents and instructions.
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers.
- Lead and train other machinists.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in productivity tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Machine Shop Specific:
- Create NC programs based on engineering specifications, operate equipment, and work with various materials.
- Proficiency in machining diverse materials including plastics, composites, metals, and alloys.
- Experience with low volume, unique projects.
