The Beer'd Brewing Company (Beer'd) has two locations, one in Groton, CT and one in Stonington, CT. Beer'd opened in 2012 with a three-barrel system and has grown to host two production breweries. Beer'd specializes in India Pale Ales, American Pale Ales and barrel-aged beers.


The taproom is the face of the brewery and our tasting room experience must be extraordinary, as such we place great importance on customer service and perceived value.

We are looking for someone to provide the best "beer experience" possible

Primary Function
The Taproom Coordinator oversees developing performance of employees and ensuring that customers are satisfied with their experience. This person oversees daily taproom operations, monitors inventory accurately, and assists in other areas as needed. Position reports to the Taproom Manager.

  • Manages opening and closing responsibilities
  • Serves beer for customers
  • Oversees and monitors daily taproom operations, this including the point of sale system and cash drawers
  • Ensures a wellrounded draft list in the taproom by working with Production & Sales
  • Coordinates and manages beverage vendors (beer, cider, wine) daily, ensures adequate stock and freshness
  • Ensures all safety protocols are observed in the taproom; train, reinforce and improve a safety culture and attitude in taproom operations
  • Responsible for documenting and reporting taproom related injuries
  • Maintains safe, clean, healthy and sustainable taproom environment by daily cleaning (including weekly draft line cleaning)
  • Mitigates and responds to all taproom related issues as they arise
  • Complies with all safe chemical handling procedures including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
  • Ensures compliance with all Alcohol and Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) standards and required documentation
Staff

  • Initiates and assists with staff meetings and trainings as necessary
  • Holds all crew members accountable to operating within brewery procedures
  • Trains/Educates staff on beer styles, beer history, beer flavors, POS system, pouring techniques, etc
  • Identifies and disseminates product and procedural updates to staff on an ongoing basis
Retail

  • Responsible for creating orders, managing, and entering all merchandise items into the inventory management system (Square)
  • Back up for processing online orders (including packaging and shipping), as well as entering, updating, and monitoring all online merchandise items in the online inventory management system (Square) when the COO is unavailable
  • Zones merchandise display(s) to maximize revenue
  • Restocks low inventory items
  • Coordinates new inventory and restock low inventory item deliveries when needed (GRO|STN)
  • Performs physical counts at least once a month and compare physical counts to merchandise reports in inventory management system (Square)
  • Identifies inventory discrepancies and report monthly shrinkage reports
  • Participates in selection of appropriate Beer'd Brewing branded merchandise
Customer Service

  • Oversees and improves customer service (greeting, educating, processing transactions)
  • Assists in planning, organizing, and executing events and parties
  • Assists the Marketing Manager utilizing the company social media/marketing channels to promote events and updates related to the taproom
  • Identifies additional promotional/event opportunities and fosters relationships for promoting the brewery
  • Deals with all issues that arise from staff and/or customers (complaints, grievances, etc.)
  • Solicits customer feedback and analyzes to identify opportunities to improve experience
Other

  • Represents Beer'd at industry technical events, conferences, and marketing events
  • Ability to assist with offsite tastings and events as necessary

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to troubleshoot tap systems/kegs
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures with mínimal deviation
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and ladders
  • Occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and QuickBooks.
  • Solid working knowledge with brewery ERP systems (Ekos& Keg Id) and POS systems (Square)
  • Knowledgeable and complies with DOL, DOH, OSHA, TTB, and DCP regulations
  • Ability to create a strategy to implement continual improvements in the taproom
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging, straight forward, and detailoriented presentations to a wide variety of audiences
  • TIPS Alcohol Certified
  • Must become Cicerone Level 1 Beer Server Certified within six
