About the Role

We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our team at Symetra. As a Benefits Specialist, your main goal will be to support our Life, Disability, and Supplemental Health sales teams with inforce business. You'll be in charge of managing relationships with new and existing customers, growing the business, and handling any issues that may arise. This role requires a good understanding of the external marketplace and focuses on generating revenue growth by retaining customers, expanding the business, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Process Requests for Proposal (RFPs) while meeting service level requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives to develop and present formal proposals and sales materials.
  • Handle the implementation of New Sold Cases in the under 500 employee segment, which includes underwriting submission, contract review, delivery facilitation, and necessary follow-up communication.
  • Provide top-notch service to the assigned book of business, addressing inquiries, working across departments to resolve issues, and offering solutions.
  • Manage the renewal process for the assigned book of business.
  • Support Regional Account Manager and/or Regional Implementation.

Compensation

Hourly Range: $28.09 - $46.80, with eligibility for an annual bonus program.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma
  • College degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Four to six years of group insurance experience
  • Active Life and Health Insurance license
  • Demonstrated sales and mathematics aptitude
  • Proficiency in interpreting and presenting contract provisions
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills
