SUMMARY: The role of the Barista is to ensure the values and culture of the establishment are upheld and reflected in every interaction. A positive attitude, genuine passion for the food and beverage industry, and a love for customer service are key qualities for this role. As a Barista, you are an essential part of a dynamic team committed to delivering top-notch service to guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Makes and serves specialty coffee and tea beverages
- Follows recipes and maintains food and beverage presentation standards
- Engages with both new and regular customers in a friendly manner
- Utilizes effective up-selling techniques when appropriate
- Keeps a clean and organized work area following health and safety protocols
- Adheres to established guidelines and performs assigned duties efficiently
- QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Work Experience
- Minimum age requirement of 16 years old
- Preferably 1+ year(s) of customer service experience
- Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Capable of maintaining professionalism and excellent communication with customers and colleagues
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment by multitasking and prioritizing effectively
- Flexible availability including weekends and evenings
- Punctual, reliable, and a team player
- Physical Capabilities Required
- Moderate physical demands with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds
- Activities include standing, walking, reaching, talking, and listening
- Must have good vision for accurate work and general inspections
- Exposure to moderate noise levels in the work environment
