Job Description
We are looking for experienced Welders to join our team for a project running through the end of 2025. Your primary tasks will involve conducting welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to specific tolerances using various welding metals and alloys. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive assessment using precise tool blending and hand tools. Your role will encompass interpreting layouts and welding parts and assemblies based on engineering drawings and specifications. Quality monitoring and verification according to statistical procedures or control mechanisms, as well as the assembly of metal parts to create a lasting connection, are also part of your responsibilities. You will need to execute strip welding and installation on aerospace components, review, modify, and adhere to work directives, and operate safely within an industrial setting.
Hard Skills
- Welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts
- Precision blending using hand tools
- Interpreting layouts and welding parts as per engineering drawings and specifications
- Quality monitoring and verification following statistical procedures or other control methods
- Joining metal parts to establish a lasting bond
- Conducting strip welding and installation on aerospace components
- Reviewing, modifying, and adhering to work directives
- Tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.)
- Utilization of 3-D CAD tools (preferably CREO)
- TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and inconel components both manually and/or with automatic equipment
- Preparing for welding involving cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts
- Supporting design and production of tools for welding and assembly
Soft Skills
- Capability to read and interpret GD&T as per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards
- Understanding drawing reviews, scheduling and processing work orders, inventory, and various issue tracking systems
- Engaging with engineers on design concepts, suggesting enhancements to the design
Job Type
This represents a contract role lasting 2 years.
Work Site
This role requires full on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.
Work Environment
The work atmosphere is situated in a new facility for rocket engine manufacturing. It is meticulously maintained, temperature-controlled, and equipped with cutting-edge machinery. Furthermore, there is a cleanroom accessible on-site. A phone-based comprehensive lockdown sheet is mandatory for this position.
Compensation:
Salary rates range from $30 to $40 along with a per diem allowance of $100/day for travelers.
