For over 22 years, our manufacturing facilities in Wilmington have been instrumental in the success of GE Aerospace. With a vast 600,000 sq 2 of manufacturing space and a diverse range of 300+ CNC machines/ 21 special processes, we produce high-quality rotating parts for aircraft engines in the commercial and military sectors.   • Receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for the first 5 years, increasing to 10% shift differential after 5 years.

Job Overview

This role presents a unique learning opportunity in our team, focusing on setting up and operating production machinery, particularly multi-axis CNC/NC machines. You will interpret instructions from planning, drawings, and sketches to work with a variety of metals and parts.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Generate and verify part dimensions using various measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, and indicators during different machining stages.
  • Conduct precise indicating on parts where accuracy is crucial to the machining process.
  • Accurately record own time and maintain necessary records, logbooks, and reports.
  • Assist in training operators on equipment operation.
  • Ensure all tolerances and finishes meet manufacturing standards.
  • Acquire and maintain CVP certification with provided training.
  • Maintain part traceability through accurate serialization.
  • Verify conformance of characteristics at each operation through inspection techniques.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Operate equipment based on drawings and method sheets, with the ability to supplement with job knowledge as needed.
  • Utilize forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment for tasks instead of manual lifting.
  • Adhere to proper ergonomic procedures when lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing setup and operations using CNC or manual machining processes like drilling, milling, grinding, turning, or broaching; OR a 2-degree from an accredited machinist training program.
  • At least 1 year of experience in interpreting mechanical blueprints and/or production planning.
  • Minimum of 2 years using precision measuring instruments.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with Aircraft Engines machining.
  • Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively in English.
  • Experience working in a high-performing team-oriented environment.

Compensation Grade

HRLY AVIATION
