We are located on 1.5 acres of land at 5000 Ridgedale Parkway in North Chesterfield, VA. With up to 104 students, from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our caring team is committed to your child's safety, fun, and education.

Duties

Teacherposition must have24 clock hours of trainingrelated to the care of children within 1 month after hire or promotion to be considered a Lead.If the person applying for this position wishes to be an assistant, you must have16 hoursof annual training hours 1 month after hire or promotion. The applicants applying for this position must be personable, reliable and child oriented. This position is part-time during school and full time during the summer. The person applying for this position must be available to work on days kids are out of school. This position could be aFullorPart-Timeposition. If you are applying for only part-time, we would need you for4 hoursa dayMonday-Friday(2hrs am and 2hrs pm).Additional hours are available if the person we hire is flexible and desiresFull Timehours. If the person for this position desires Full Time hours, this person must be comfortable working withany age group. You must also be willing to work at any compacity needed rather it is cleaning, cooking, and assisting with children.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum age for this position is 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months experience working with children of a multi age group is required.
  • Proof of a negative TB test.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid required within 30 days.
  • Medication Administration Training (MAT) Certification may be required.
  • Complete and maintain required trainings.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check, Virginia State Police background check, and Child Protective Services check.

  • Sustainthe objective, image, and aspirations of the The Noble Academy, Inc.
  • Uphold a professional work setting through character development by modeling the values of compassion, integrity, regard, and accountability.
  • Lead in a way that expands our grounds to increase the organization of community through programs that converge on youth expansion, beneficial living, and community accountability.
  • Remain directly in control of the guidance, behavior management and safety of an assigned group of students. Maintain sight and sound supervision.
  • Keep correct attendance records and other records as assigned.
  • Plan and clean up needed supplies and materials for daily activities.
  • Actively participate in organized games and activities with your group of children.
Requirements

Candidates for this position must have Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult staff. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and verbal. Maintain safety and ensures the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children during all activities.Aid in the upkeep of appropriate standards for children's discipline and behavior standards using non-punitive methods.Day-to-day procedure; including maintaining a well-balanced and effective work environment.

Curriculum: planning, implementation, and documentation and evaluation such as arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, snack and lunch, rest period as indicated by the Director. Lesson plans, curriculum plans, supply requests, etc., are completed on time. Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom teachers, program co-workers, families, and other staff members.Attends all staff meetings and other work-related functions as required.Assists in sustaining and providing regular testing of emergency response plan.Continues to develop professional self.Able to lift 40 lbs.Other responsibilities as assigned.

For this position you must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, Child Protective Services Background Check, and a Skin Tuberculosis test. Furthermore, for these positions it is required that the teacher must complete13 hours of online training upon being hired. This training must be completed before you are able to start work (on site paid training). Reliable transportation is necessary, and you must truly desire to work with children in a childcare setting.

Nice To Haves
  • Individuals with anassociate degree in early childhood education or working towards one is preferred. However, this is not a requirement we will accept someone with documented experience. Drive a 15-passenger van with young children (must have a good driving record with no major violations).
