Job Description

AECOM is looking for a talented Senior Communications Engineer to join our top-notch transit systems practice in Jacksonville, FL. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a growing practice with immense potential for development. As part of this dynamic team, you will be involved in designing detailed Communication sub-systems for Transportation systems, including fiber optic networks, radio systems, and more.   • Develop detailed Communication sub-system designs for Transportation systems
  • Produce system design deliverables such as block diagrams and network diagrams
  • Generate design reports and author test procedures
  • Assist in needs assessments and contract negotiations
  • Support system implementation and participate in project phases
  • Manage and lead Systems vendors until final delivery
  • Support procurement efforts and author technical requirements
  • Lead technical interactions with clients and stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel
  • Identify potential projects and participate in project pursuit efforts
  • Manage client project lifecycle phases
  • Provide Construction Engineering Support on infrastructure projects
  • Oversee projects to ensure timely completion
  • Assist in project sequencing and grouping
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering and six years of experience in telecommunication systems
  • Valid Drivers license and pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 20 years of experience in rail and transit systems design
  • Experience in designing IP backbone networks and integrated communication systems
  • Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to rail projects
  • Able to work with limited supervision and lead discussions with senior staff and clients
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage and mentor engineering teams
  • Familiarity with alternative delivery methods, such as design-build
