Position Information

The Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team as Aquatics Instructors and/or coaching staff at the Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center in Arlington County. If you're reliable, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with children, this could be the perfect opportunity for you Our program offers a variety of classes, including parent and tot, preschool levels, diving, water aerobics, and more. We also have a competitive swim team for those interested in coaching athletes.

  • Provide tailored Aquatics instruction to students
  • Prepare lesson plans and curriculum
  • Set up and secure equipment
  • Inspect and report equipment
  • Recommend purchases
  • Complete necessary paperwork

We are currently seeking individuals experienced in swimming instruction, diving, swim team coaching, and adapted Aquatics. Various positions available with different levels of expertise required.

Selection Criteria

Minimum requirements for each level include a high school diploma or equivalent and hours of technical experience in Aquatics. Substitution of experience with education is possible. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in aquatics programs and working with children.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment background check will be conducted, including criminal record and education verification.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
