Job Description: As a Structural Engineer, your role will entail overseeing the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions, particularly focusing on waterproofing recommendations and structural repairs for existing buildings (wood, concrete, steel, etc.), including shoring plans design. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough understanding of engineering procedures, experience with various materials, and the ability to guide and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Define project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans
  • Allocate project responsibilities and tasks to team members
  • Establish project specifications based on design and performance standards
  • Validate product performance through testing
  • Investigate causes of structural issues through on-site assessments
  • Create shoring plans for repairs
  • Develop project schedules and monitor progress
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications and manage changes
  • Control project costs and prepare status reports
  • Maintain compliance with building codes and standards
  • Lead and support project teams
  • Manage budgets, proposals, and schedules
  • Review billing and change orders
  • Forecast workload and allocate resources
  • Provide training and guidance to staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Florida PE license is a must
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software
  • Expertise in engineering methods and materials
  • Strong team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
