Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.


We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe.

We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe

Due to continued growth, we are looking to integrate a

Coating and Corrosion Engineer

to support our growing team.
Purpose of Role

We are seeking a corrosion engineer/specialist to join our team. As a corrosion engineer, you will play a crucial role in preventing and managing corrosion-related issues across our projects.

Your expertise will contribute to the longevity and safety of our products and infrastructure, whilst continuously improving methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Develop policies and procedures on paint technologies in accordance with ISO 12944 and other relevant standards.


Take an active role in researching new methods and technologies, detailing specifications, and working with the supply chain to propose and implement solutions.

Work with the quality assurance team to train and develop personnel in inspection methods and techniques.

Determine suitable materials and coatings based on exposure conditions, temperature, and chemical compatibility.

Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Conduct inspections to ensure coatings and protective systems are functioning correctly.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Criteria

Bachelor's degree in materials science, corrosion engineering or alternatively suitable inspection certificates related to coatings.

Proven experience in corrosion engineering or a related role, i.e. paint inspection & monitoring.

Familiarity with industry standards, i.e. ISO12944, ISO 8501,

Desirable Criteria

Pipeline coatings inspector certificate.

AMPP/NACE certified or possess similar industry recognised standards.
