  • The pathologist assistant will handle routine functions in surgical pathology, troubleshoot quality issues, and conduct gross examinations of specimens.
  • Assist the department manager/supervisor in daily operations of the pathology area.
  • Perform gross examination and dissection of complex specimens.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Interact with pathologists on dissection activities.
  • Identify and solve problems affecting test performance.
  • Coordinate workflow and monitor quality indicators.
  • Follow laboratory procedures and continuing education requirements.
  • Required Experience: Bachelor's degree and state licensure.
  • Preferred: Masters Degree, surgical gross experience, and NAACLS approved training.
  • Certification: ASCP PA certification required.
