Job Description
Intermountain Electronics, Inc., is seeking a Material Handler for our Centralia, Illinois facility. IE is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process, and electrical systems to the mining, oil & gas, and power/utility industries. IE's turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses. Our products include portable power/generators, substations, electrical control rooms (MCC's/VFD's/switchgear), water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, and other products used in the energy, oil and gas, and mining sectors.

The Weekend Warehouse Material Handler will be responsible for identifying, staging, and delivering received goods from the warehouse to the production floor in a timely manner. This is a Weekend shift position working hour shifts from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a 4-hour shift through the week.

Major Duties
  • Works with Procurement Manager to coordinate the planned and unplanned workflow.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and delivering all material in IE Facility to Point of Use, inventory and/or job carts.
  • Responsible to deliver daily received items from 4-wheeler trailer to shop floor. Trailer is empty at the end of day.
  • Materials requested from production floor line lead or project manager is delivered to that person and signed off for.
  • Maintains Material Request Queue to ensure timely delivers to, will-call or shop floor.a.If necessary, PM/Final employees may retrieve materials from will-call if Material Handler is behind; (see Tier Allowances)
  • Insures that goods are appropriately identified and staged for manufacturing and rebuild for routing to shop floor or other departments within the Company.
  • Reads production schedule to determine when kitted job carts should be prepared and distributed to shop floor.Job carts are accurate, containing all the required parts. BOM for jobs are signed off at the distribution of job carts.
  • Return finished job carts to warehouse as jobs are out of the test department, document and return leftover material to inventory and communicate with buyers for supplier returns. Ensures items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Operate forklift to move or hoist shipments from warehouse to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Confers with appropriate department heads to ensure coordination of shipping/receiving warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production and sales.
  • Coordinate weekly scheduled review meetings for plan of continuous improvement.
    •Maintains proper communication with Project Managers with respect to kitting of job cart material.
  • Oversee the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory maintenance.
Experience and Skills
The skills and experience required for this job are:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, plus three years' experience in shipping/receiving/warehouse operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of IE organization and operations, shipping/receiving practices, and procedures
  • Good understanding and knowledge in the production and manufacturing of electrical distribution equipment related to mining industry.
  • Lift Up To 50 Lbs., Push/Pull Up To 100 Lbs.
  • Must be able to read English, count accurately, do simple math, and write English legibly.
  • Must be able to safely operate Company forklifts.
  • 5 years' experience with forklift and warehouse work strongly preferred
  • Attention to detail. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, dependable and able to fulfill obligations.
  • Good PC skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Outlook, EPICOR and other specialized purchasing applications
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of internal employees, customers and vendors.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision.
