This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in leading innovative and challenging water wastewater projects, including the technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. The position will also provide the opportunity to grow an existing process engineering practice into a sustainable business within Geosyntec, developing new client contacts, collaborating with other senior staff, and developing junior staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntecs culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that youd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. Some of the key responsibilities may include:

  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing municipal/industrial water and wastewater characterization, treatment design, trouble shooting and optimization and remediation engineering projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, process design, and report writing;
  • Data analysis, including interpreting maps and figures, CADD drawings, and database files working with our information management specialists;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Reviewing and managing written document production;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan.
Education and Licensure:
  • Bachelors degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, chemical, or environmental). (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of environmental consulting experience, including familiarity with the process engineering marketplace or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of municipal/industrial water and wastewater treatment processes (required), including physical, chemical, and biological processes. (preferred)
  • Successful client management and business development track record. (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet strict deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified Colorado locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntecs total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $103,435 / Maximum Salary: $134,465 (Lakewood, Greenwood Village)
  • Minimum Salary: $98,510 / Maximum Salary: $128,065 (Colorado Springs)
