Job DescriptionSeeking a dedicated and passionate School Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide social work services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), oversee and manage 504 plans, and offer general education social work support as needed. This is a full-time position working with elementary school students, requiring a collaborative approach to support the emotional, social, and academic development of our students.
Key Responsibilities- IEP Services: Provide social work minutes to students with IEPs, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with their individualized plans.
- 504 Plan Management: Oversee and manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of 504 plans, ensuring pliance with federal and state regulations.
- General Education Support: Offer social work services and support to general education students as needed, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including case notes, reports, and progress updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions and support strategies.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services as needed, including immediate support and follow-up for students experiencing acute distress.
- Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school social work and related fields.
- pliance: Ensure pliance with all relevant federal, state, and district policies and procedures regarding special education and social work services.
- Education: Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Valid Illinois School Social Worker license and Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong assessment, counseling, and case management skills. Excellent munication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.
