Darigold is looking for a Butter Operator. The Butter Operator is responsible for ensuring the butter filling machines produce high quality within specification product.

This position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlines in Darigold's Good Manufacturing Policy, the position Standard Operating Procedures, and facility employee training sessions.

The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the plant Quality Manager or the Plant Manager.

Main duties include performing routine maintenance checks and following strict food safety regulations and guidelines and operating mechanical or computer-operated equipment.

What You Will Do

  • Safe, efficient operation of a butter filling machine
  • Inspection and monitoring of the butter filling process ensuring proper equipment operation
  • Maintaining and monitoring any required inventory necessary to production goals
  • Maintain an organized work area and perform ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of the butter filler machines, tanks, and bines and as needed
  • Assisting Maintenance members in routine maintenance and repairs
  • Collecting information and completing any required production reports accurately
  • Run butterfat and moisture samples from butter machines and run metal detection checks on a regular basis.
  • Repetitive lifting throughout 12-hour shifts

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year production experience preferred
Nice to Have's

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 12 hours and confidently traverse concrete and tile floors that may intermittently be wet with milk, water, or butter.
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs both expanded metal and catwalk.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, rubber steel toed boots, etc.
  • Must be able to operate powered and unpowered pallet jackets, or obtain certification within 30 days, for the movement of pallets to staging area.
  • Must be to handle and use a utility safety knife, open small plastic bottles, handle and use eye dropper.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level and above shoulder height
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions
  • Must be able to monitor and inspect product and equipment and follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes
