Optical Engineer

Location:- Fremont, CA (Onsite only )
Requirements:
- Ciena and/or Infinera certifications or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Configuration, build, rollout and testing of new DWDM line systems deployments, calibration, verification, BERT, etc.
- Expert working knowledge on DWDM components such as ROADM, Mux/Demux, Amplifiers, Transponders. Channel creation, optimization.
- Deployment and commissioning of Optical devices such as Ciena and Infinera in new PoPs and Datacenter builds.
- Solid understanding and configuration experience of Channel builds and cross-connect builds.
- Good knowledge on DWDM testing methods and tools.
- Solid understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
- Experience in Chassis installation, line cards install PCR's and structure fiber installation.
- Experience in device installation and testing, software/firmware upgrade, re-bootstrapping and decommission.
- Experience in network optimization (re-stripes, migrations, upgrades, swaps, capacity upgrades). Creating Bill of Materials and JSN's, (Job Start Notification) for deployments and upgrades.
- Excellent experience in maintaining documentation and teamwork.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- CCNA/JNCIA or equivalent knowledge.
