Job Description

Assist Supervisor and crews in the daily process to produce quality converted products in a safe and productive manner, minimizing waste. Assist in the training of all new employees and cross-train employees in key positions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Train and cross-train employees on machinery and processes.
  • Ensure necessary tools and materials are available for crews.
  • Oversee crews to ensure reliability, dependability, and punctuality.
  • Promote cooperation among crew members.
  • Maintain and enhance team morale.
  • Address and resolve questions, concerns, and problems raised by the crew.
  • Train crew members on the importance of operational efficiency.
  • Communicate performance feedback to crew members.
  • Coordinate with the supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent on repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep upper management informed of departmental issues.
  • Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with departmental personnel.
  • Communicate with other supervisors to avoid problems during shift changes.
  • Enhance career skills through training and courses.
  • Implement and support company policies, safety programs, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist in supervising all employees in the department, including training, planning, appraising performance, conflict resolution, and setting an example of superior behavior.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of leadership experience preferred.

Candidates with the following are preferred:
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Skills

Read and interpret documents, write reports, and speak effectively. Calculate measurements and apply mathematical concepts. Apply common sense understanding and solve problems efficiently. Possess technical knowledge for equipment operation and cost management.

Quality Standards

Adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Physical Demands

Perform various physical tasks while meeting vision requirements.

Work Environment: Work in environments with mechanical parts, wet conditions, and exposure to noise and other elements.

Leadership Attributes

Exhibit time management skills, teaching abilities, crisis management, employee relations skills, and confidence in leadership.

Performance Measurements

Supervisor's performance will be evaluated based on operating standards, personal growth, employee relations, creativity, and EEOC compliance.
