PCU Registered Nurse

***Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg/Tele and Med Surg***
Position / Specialty: Ren 6W Cardiac Surgical Intermediate - PCU
Start date:
Ratios: 1:4 all shifts
Years of experience REQ: 2 years
First-timers accepted: (Y/N): Yes
Weekend REQ: Yes- every other
Certs REQ: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH
Is on-call REQ? (Y/N) What is the req?
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes - Floating within service line, floating between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, & Wildwood facilities as needed.

• We are the only unit in the hospital that the open heart surgery patients can go to when they leave the ICU
• Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg Tele and Med Surg - Special Equipment
• All rooms have a ceiling lift and we are a no lift facility - Work Settings
• Cardiac Telemetry
• Telemetry - Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias - Cardiovascular
• Post MI
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
• Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery - IV Therapy/Phlebotomy
• Blood Product Administration
• Central line care/management
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• PICC line management - Medications
• Heparin Protocols
• Manage Cardiac drips- no titration
• Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration - Respiratory/Thoracic
• External CPAP/BIPAP
• Nasal Cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
